No, surprisingly, I'm not dead. ^^
It's that time of year again and I almost forgot to post this.
Christmas Gift Drabble...Thing...Yeah.
Yeah, if you've been on the flist for more than the past year, which most of you have, you're familiar with this one.
I've left this post unlocked because I have a small flist over on this journal, so if you're on my flist here you can make a request for a drabble and I'll write it for you as a Christmas gift. (Well, see, because I celebrate Christmas, it's a Christmas gift. But you know, whatever suits your style. Christmas, Yule, Seasonal, Eldritch Ceremony of the Old Ones...whatever. =) )
I'm not really expecting many requests this year because I've been absent and quiet for a lot of the time, but you know, it's like...a tradition. So, yeah. If you're reading this, the offer's open to you.
Please give me:
Fandom Character/Pairing Prompt (setting, emotion, song lyric, word, feeling, scenario, whatever, feel free to be specific or not)
You'll get at least a 100 word drabble.
Fandoms:-
Transformers, Devil May Cry, Trinity Blood, Final Fantasy X, VII, XII, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus etc, Legacy of Kain, Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, Heroes, Gundam Seed, anything else you can think of, try me and I'll let you know. |

For those on my Flist not watching the comms, there's a new FFVII Crisis Core trailer out:-
Much better than anything seen so far! (Still waiting on a translation though.)

I was going to go to the Gathering, but now can't afford it so I ain't. Suspect this is probably a good thing as I was never intending to go for more than the trip afield and the chance to browse the marketplace and spend ridiculous amounts of money. Hmmm. Being a responsible adult has its downsides but is unfortunately currently necessary.*flops*
Got a list of things to do this weekend. Working through them. Hate being on my own in the house these days. Never used to be that way. University ruined me.
Also, lol:- This gadget makes cat macros out of your last few LJ entry subjects. The "Gone Larping" one amused me. Change the URL to read with your own lj username if you're as at a loss as I am.
Hi world, you suck! |

Search Function?

Is it just me or is the search function a little shot here on IJ? 9 times out of 10 it returns an error for me. Not that useful. *humph* |

Well, I've signed up over at kinkfest and taken the following prompts:-
( Read more... )
I am somewhat depressed at the moment, real life is being a serious super bitch. Depending on exactly how the future unfolds over the next few weeks, I think I'm going to be reading my LJ Flist and awful lot less and keeping up with this one more quite simply because it's smaller and doesn't get 200 posts a day on it. :/ I really need to set up a "close friends" filter over on LJ because more than half what's on my F-page is from people I really just don't know. There's a downside to keeping your fic flocked unfortunately.
Having said all this I'll probably end up posting more than ever as a stress relief, but well, who can say.
Oh Life, oh Universe. How I love thee.
(Need to pull some angsty icons over to IJ too for superior wangst effect.)

Right, well. That's me done.
I just bought a permanent account for my Insane Journal and due to current exchange rates it was a simple £20. Compare that to the absolutely extortionate £75 a permanent LJ account would have cost me and there's no comparison.
So yeah, I've finally decided to settle with IJ over GJ because although my GJ has a slightly larger Flist, all my favourtie comms have leapt to IJ and well...I like Sparky's attitude.
For the last time though, I'm not leaving LJ. I'm just crossposting and feeling more relaxed about fandom being unlocked on my IJ as my LJ has a whole host of people who don't need to see my writing. Plus, my LJ has got people from more formal settings such as work and family reading it and for a while now that's been bugging me. I want to post unlocked posts of what I want to my LJ, not what others want to see.
So uhm, yeah. If LJ kicks me, head for IJ to find me.

| » So bored. |
Ugh, bored.
I was reading a Transformers fic (shut up) and in one of them it mentioned that Mikaela's hair smelled like Herbal Essences shampoo. I had to laugh because the film is packed full of product placement and it's just perfect that it would show up like that in the fanfiction too. ;D There's a bit in the film where one of the women takes a disc out of a PC and rotates it just so in order that everyone can quite clearly see the Panasonic label on it. The entire audience burst out laughing it was so obvious. I love that film.
Did I mention I was bored? Excellent. Have the latest fandom meme to be making the rounds:-
Reply with a fandom and I'll tell you:
1. The first character I fell in love with: 2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: 3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: 4. The character I love that everyone else hates: 5. The character I would shag anytime: 6. The character I’d want to be like: 7. The character I’d slap: 8. A pairing that I love: 9. A pairing that I despise: 10. Favorite character:
Additional questions: What are your five favorite things about your fandom? What are your five least favorite things about your fandom? Who are your five favorite characters? Who are your five least favorite characters? What are your five favorite pairings? What are your five least favorite pairings? Which character are you most like? What is your deep, dark fandom secret?
Fandoms: You should know them by now. Try me, I may surprise you.

I really rather wish that our kitchen didn't have such an impressive slug population at night. I kind of wish they'd stay on the outside in the garden where they belong.
I also rather wish I'd worn slippers tonight too.

Wow, look I know this is getting boring now, but did anyone else realise that Brad's leaving SA/LJ for pastures new? Holy f*ck!
(Brad being the guy who created LJ in the first place and then sold it to Six Apart a couple of years back.)

| » Are You the Tooth Fairy? |
So yes, Ailsa and I went and tracked down a Bumble Bee figurine today and having beaten away all the small children from the display stand, we finally found a suitable one. It's only vanished from my desk twice so far when I turned my back which indicates that either my entire office is obsessed geeks or Hasbro are that good.
(Why yes, I did enjoy the movie, why do you ask? The randomly posed fashion models were the best bit. Beautiful, inappropriately dressed women posing with flowing hair and rippling silks as giant robots cartwheel overhead? Yes, I do find that highly amusing.)
Unfortunately however, I have cleverly gone and left my USB stick at work so all the files I was going to work on tonight are sat in Bristol. I don't think the cleaners will nick it, I doubt they'd even know what it was, acidic creatures that they are, but I admit I did take Bumble Bee home just in case. *head -> desk*
I'll get a life one day. Maybe when they go on sale.
In other news, I'm reading the "The Children of Hurin" by Tolkien. I can honestly say, if you liked the Silmarillion, you'll love this. Now I'm not a Tolkien fan, I honestly think he's incredibly overrated, but when he's not trying to write novels he does write very good stories. If he'd written the plot and someone else (insert decent author of your choice here) wrote the actual words, we'd be on to a winner. Anyway, I can't stand the LotR's Trilogy, but I really enjoyed the Silmarillion and the latest offering is in the same vein and therefore pushes all the same buttons. Recommended for the hardcore fans. Plus, it has pictures. Bonus (except the art style's too wishy-washy for my tastes. Apparently it's good though).
Discovered Fall Out Boy. Not as good as My Chemical Romance though. Sort of a cross between them and Sum 41, but not as good as either. ;P

I'd make a "testing, testing" post, but Semagic seems like it's pretty sound software to me.
For those of you who don't know me all that well, I'll make a brief summary of who, and what, I am.
- I'm 24, female and from the UK. I currently live in Bath and currently I work tech support.
- I have no religion, but my family are predominantly spiritualist and as such, so am I.
- I am an avid reader, writer, and movie-goer. It's fair to say that I love stories in whatever form they're presented to me.
- I'm heavily involved in fandom and write for the following:- Legacy of Kain, Naruto, Final Fantasy X, VII, XII, Trinity Blood, Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry and many others. Those are just the main targets.
I've decided that I'm going to be using my GJ as an unlocked home for my fic, more like a fandom journal than anything else, and my IJ as my LJ alternative for mow. That having been said, I'm still keeping my LJ as my primary account simply because the bulk of my communities and friends live there. For now at any rate. On that note however, I may be posting a large amount of fic to my GJ in the coming days for which I do apologise. I may actually make the posts private for a week and then unlock them later so that they don't turn up on people's flists. (I think that should work at any rate.)
A huge hello to all the new people on my flists, it's good to see old and new alike and I hope we can make as strong a community on these two journals as we all had over at LJ.
And with that said, on with the show.
